A Gold and Warm Brown Face of the Day With MAC and Rouge Bunny Rouge (and a Tip for Doe-Eyed Looks) - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Y'all might think that my down-filled winter coat gets all the credit for keeping me warm correct now, merely nope — that's not why I feel downright toasty today (although the coat is helping, considering DUUUDE, it'due south cold exterior!).
I've been going through a gilt phase, and when I woke upward this morning, the showtime affair I wanted to do — well, after putting on thermals, 2 pairs of socks and the aforementioned glaze — was bosom out the warm browns to article of clothing with some shimmery aureate shadows.
Ah… Then warm and toasty. 🙂 I used one of my favorite easy eye makeup tricks, too. It's a skilful way to add extra kick to metallic looks, and make your peepers appear rounder (recollect "more doe-eyed").
For the aureate effect here, all you lot need are two aureate shimmery eyeshadows — one lighter than the other. Today I chose 2 shades that aren't likewise far from each other considering I wanted to go on my blending to a minimum. I went with MAC Woodwinked for the darker gold and Rouge Bunny Rouge's new Loose Glitter Paint in Encompass of Cashmere ($26) every bit the lighter shade.
I started by sweeping a warm matte chocolate-brown in the pucker, then patted the darker gold on the lid, blended the two together to erase any harsh lines and patted the lighter gold in the middle of the lid, simply above my iris.
The lighter color in the middle completes the gradient that goes from the darker gilt in the outer corner of the lid (the side closer to your ear), to the lighter colour in the center, to the darker gilt once more in the inner corner.
And the gradient makes the magic happen. 🙂 It's what makes the eyes await slightly rounder, while the lighter metal color flashes in the light to give a little actress something to the overall look.
The effect is super subtle hither — good for daytime. Plus, it's not very hard to do. You could, of form, always increase the drama past using colors with more dissimilarity to raise the doe-eyed upshot and amplify the look for going out and/or parties.
If you give it a effort erstwhile, permit me know how information technology goes! Yous can also tweet it to me on Twitter, or post it on Facebook or Instagram. I always love to see your makeup. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood dazzler addict,
Karen
